Members of the Chappaqua Fire Department and a crew from Pleasantville were dispatched to Sutton Farms Drive shortly after 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, where there was a report of a possible roof fire, officials said.

Upon arrival at the home, crews found a fully involved fire that had torn through the roof, which collapsed. It was ultimately determined that the fire started in the upper floors and spread through the attic and roof. Following the roof collapse, when it was determined that it was safe to enter the structure, firefighters re-entered the home and knocked down any remaining flames.

There were residents in the home at the time the fire broke out, but no injuries were reported. In total, approximately five dozen firefighters responded to the scene. The fire was declared under control and all units were back in service at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Fire crews were back at the home early on Monday, when hot spots flared up at the home.

While dealing with the fire, members from the Armonk Fire Department covering for Chappaqua firefighters also responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Cowdin Circle, officials noted. Crews found low levels of carbon monoxide at the home, which was due to a faulty appliance. The appliance was turned off and the home was vented.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
